The government of St Kitts and Nevis recently decided to host a US embassy in their country, as they aim to strengthen their relationship with the United States.
This decision was reached during a cabinet meeting, and the government released a statement announcing its willingness to host the embassy.
St Kitts and Nevis government officials have been meeting and engaging with US officials on this subject and expressed optimism in awaiting the decision of the US.
This move follows Vice President Kamala Harris’ announcement of the United States plan to establish two new embassies and a diplomatic support presence in the Eastern Caribbean.
Currently, the Eastern Caribbean is served by the US Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados.
