The government of Dominica has officially broken ground for the rehabilitation of the Chatwell feeder road project in Bellevue Chopin amounting to over six million dollars.  The project is being funded by the European Union Development Fund. The government officials along with the media had a tour of the site before and after the ceremony.

Minister for Public Works, Hon. Fidel Grant said that this project will directly impact the lives of farmers in the area as this “ key” feeder road provides access to many farms. He said this is significant for bolstering Dominica’s agricultural sector and ensuring the resilience of the transportation network used to link farms to market.

“There are several benefits to our farmers and communities; it reduces travel time, it reduces wear and tear on farmers’ vehicles, it reduces in-transit damage to your fresh produce to name a few,” he said.
