The Federal Cabinet held a National Town Hall meeting on Tuesday (August 01) evening at the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) Conference Room, where Ministers of Government reflected on their various ministries and what they have been able to achieve through them in bringing about tangible benefits and development to citizens and residents, as well as future plans that will be implemented to help the buildout of a Sustainable Island State.
The National Town Hall was held as part of the activities to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Administration, under the leadership of Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew.
The transformation of St. Kitts and Nevis into a Sustainable Island State is based on seven pillars. These are increasing local food production; transitioning to Green Energy; diversifying the economy; attracting and supporting sustainable industries; evolving the Creative Economy; recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic; and expanding social protection and safety nets to protect the most vulnerable.
