Antigua and Barbuda Initiates Talks with Qatar for Natural Gas Investment

Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, has initiated discussions with Qatar about potential investments in the nation’s natural gas sector.The Prime Minister also explored the possibility of student exchanges between Middle Eastern universities and the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus.

During a meeting with the new Qatari Ambassador, Yaser Awad Al-Abdulla, Prime Minister Browne proposed the idea of establishing an LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal in Antigua and Barbuda.

With most Caribbean cruise ships transitioning to LNG power, such a terminal is vital.
